Caleb Johnson is the new American Idol! FOX

Tonight on “American Idol” Jena Irene and Caleb found out if last night’s performances paid off as Ryan Seacrest revealed the winner. The judges performed, and Caleb performed with Kiss and Jena performed with Paramore Jena and Caleb opened the show by performing a medley of different songs. Then Sam Woolf returned to the Idol stage and sang “Home” from past Idol winner Phillip Phillips, then he introduced the idol winner himself who then sang his single “Raging Fire.” Then Jennifer Nettles performed “That Girl” then Jessica Meuse came out and they both sang “Wrecking Ball.”

Then one of the judges performed her current single “First Love.” Then Caleb performed with KISS, They sang “Love Gun/Shout It Out Loud.” Aloe Blacc also performed with the Idol guys. They sang “The Man.” Demi Lovato then performed with the Idol girls and they sang “I Don’t Really Care/Neon Lights.”

Finalist Jena then performed with her favorite band Paramore and they sang “Decode/Ain’t it Fun.” This was a night full of star studded performance as they continued with a performance by John Legend. He sang “You and I.” Then Malaya came out and sang “All of Me” with him. Alex Preston performed with Jason Mraz and they sang “Love Someone.” Richard Marx performed “Waiting For You” with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Darius Rucker sang “True Believers.” Then CJ Harris and Dexter Roberts performed with him and they sang “Alright.” Lady Antebellum also performed their new hit “Bartender.”

Idol history was made! For the first time in Idol History Randy Jackson, Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr, and JLo performed and it was epic! They brought down the house. The the time came to find out who the winner would be. Ryan said “Dim the Lights” for the last time the season and announced that Caleb Johnson was the next American Idol. Congrats Caleb Johnson for winning “American Idol” season 13! Caleb Johnson then took the stage as the new Idol.
