Angelique Boyer is the star of Univision's primetime telenovela "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" that recently announced her break-up from her 3-year boyfriend, José Alberto "El Güero" Castro. Rumors had it, that the couple split because she wanted kids and they didn't meet eye to eye in when it came to that topic. A more aggressive allegation surfaced this week that mentioned the actress broke things up because had enough of the physical abuse, to which Boyer has now denied as the cause. "Throughout my career I have avoided replying to publications that talk about my personal life," she wrote on Twitter. "However, I am deeply saddened and hurt from the series of defamatory remarks about José Alberto Castro and the relationship I had with him."

"José Alberto only dedicated himself in taking care of me like no other man has done in my life," she added. "He has never attacked my physically, nor verbally and throughout the time we were together he demonstrated what a relationship of love, respect and integrity in a couple should be. My friends and some media outlets know that this has always been true, everything else is a lie, not only to José Alberto, but to me and that it deteriorates that memories of my most transcending relationship in the last years of my life. I thank once again, the people that have respected my privacy and José Alberto's. Thank you."

The 25-year-old actress and the 53-year-old producer released a joint statement following their split that they each posted on Twitter a week ago. "Through this medium we want to inform you that after a marvelous relationship full of love, it has become our decision to end it," said the letter. "In this moment in our lives we need to confront responsibilities that don't allow us to maintain, how it should be, our love. We ask for your understanding and respect so that no speculation arises. We will not make any other statement."
