Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro, posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account concerning her brother's future in Manchester United following his plan to exit Old Trafford this summer.

The 37-year-old Portuguese footballer did not fly with the squad to Bangkok for the squad's pre-season tour. He was expected to return at Carrington on Monday, but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been given extended time off to deal with "family issues." According to reports, Ronaldo will also not participate in Man Utd's Australia tour.

Ronaldo confirmed his plan to leave United due to his desire to play Champions League football. Inconsistent and weak performances prevented the club from qualifying for the competition the forthcoming season after finishing sixth in the Premier League the previous season. Still, United are hopeful Ronaldo will stay as he has another year in his contract with the team. United continues to stand their ground, claiming that Ronaldo is not for sale.

Ronaldo is also believed to be frustrated by the club's lack of transfer activity this summer and is reportedly "upset" that the team has been forced to accept a 25% reduction in their salaries.

Several speculations surround Ronaldo's possible transfer. One user even asked Ronaldo's sister on social media what the future holds for her brother. The person questioned, "Cristiano will stay [in] Manchester?" Ronaldo's sister, Aveiro, replied, as translated, "I suggest some glasses... a span of brain or else learn to read haaa and notion." Though the message appeared unclear and difficult to interpret, the entire statement seemingly meant "to read the room and make their own mind up."

Meanwhile, according to The Sun, just days before Ronaldo informed Man Utd of his plan to leave, he was handed a six-figure bonus by the club. An Old Trafford insider said, "The contracts all renew at the start of July and then the news about Cristiano wanting to leave came out." "He's done nothing wrong, but a few people have suggested the timing of it all might not be a coincidence and Ronny could have revealed his wish to leave weeks ago," the source added.

Chelsea is among the several clubs that has showed deep interest in the striker. New owner Todd Boehly reportedly discussed future terms with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes in June.
