Dascha Polanco admits that the thought of working with "well-established" actors such as Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro was quite intimidating. But once she began filming for her latest movie role, she felt at home and embraced by the stellar cast and movie director David O. Russell, which according to her, is one of the best director's she's worked with.

Polanco is part of the upcoming biographical comedy-drama film "JOY," in which she portrays Jackie, Lawrence's loyal and childhood best friend. The film, which hits theaters nationwide on Christmas day, is based on the true life of Italian-American inventor Joy Mangano, known for inventing products such as the self-wringing Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers.

The empowering movie, which also stars actors such as Édgar Ramírez, Diane Ladd, Isabella Rossellini and Melissa Rivers, tells the relatable story of a divorced mother of two children, who goes through four generations as she builds her business empire after creating the Miracle Mop.
