Prince William and Kate Middleton are now beyond worry as a major security breach has happened to their royal household. A convicted torturer got near Prince George and the royals are calling for full investigation on how this was even possible.

Darren Benjamin, 40, currently working as a driver, had a sordid past of being jailed for seven years for launching a brutal attack in 2008. It is apparent that he is not supposed to be anywhere near the royal palace, but for some reason, he was able to get near the royal kids.

The torturer allegedly boasted to his friends about the sighting and getting near the precious little royals -- Prince George, Prince Charles and Prince Louis. He even told his friends how pleasant Prince George seems to be, proving he did not just see them from afar.

The brutal attack he was just jailed for is no joking matter, which is why Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are currently very worried. He was jailed for participating in a tortured plot where an innocent man was poured hot water on his back.

Given his current line of work as a driver for an independent firm, Benjamin was tasked to deliver some furniture to Kensington Palace on July 14.

Based on his story, the three kids were in the courtyard with their nanny Maria Teresa Borrallo. Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 4 and Prince Louis, 1 are said to even have greeted him. While no harm was brought to the kids, there was serious oversight involved concerning what happened.

The Sun is said to have uncovered all these information and is said to have warned the Kensington Palace of what has happened. According to the site's source, this security oversight can be described as “potentially deadly” and should have never been allowed to take place.

“Darren is a violent criminal who was jailed for the most brutal type of torture,” the source explained, describing how chilling it was that the driver was even boasting to his peers about how close he got to the Cambridge children, including one of which is slated to become the nation’s future king. How can security be so lax?

“His friends were shocked that he was able to get into the Palace and within touching distance of royalty given his past,” the source added.

Some may wonder if there is a real cause for worry when the man is obviously out of jail and therefore, has already paid for his crimes, but a royal insider reportedly explained how grave the implications of this breach was. He also reassured the nation of the Prince and Duchess’ perceptions about criminals who already served their sentences.

“The Duke has been informed and is taking a close interest into what happened,” he explained. “He strongly believes criminals deserve a second chance once they have served their time, but is concerned current security policies might not be strong enough,” the source reassured.

“It’s very important we know who is coming into the Palace.”

One implication of this breach is the lack of detailed background checks being performed on those who can get near the royals. A Palace aide, given the tip by the Sun, claimed that the matter is now being thoroughly investigated.

Before the results of the investigation come out, the palace will be employing a higher level of risk assessment for those entering the grounds.

While it is quite apparent that the palace is very protective of the young royals, particularly of Prince George, this by no means meant the kids cannot enjoy their lives and interact with the public. Recently, Prince George celebrated his birthday with his classmates and friends with a football party. The family then went to Mustique for a family vacation. A series of pictures released by the palace and reported exclusively by Hello Magazine, showed just how gleeful the kid was, laughing at the camera.
