Katy Perry and John Mayer are no longer in a relationship and have reportedly broken up. E! News is sourcing a person close to the pair that have informed them the couple has split within the last days. The site also states Mayer was not by Perry's side during her trip to London and Milan. The couple recently released a collaboration titled "Who You Love," from John's latest album, "Paradise Valley." Katy had been spotted with a big rock on her hand which led to speculation that John had proposed and the pair were engaged, but it might have just been a big shiny accessory.

News of the break-up raises the question if this is definitive or if they will get back together soon. The two came out publicly in the summer of 2012 and they split briefly before rekindling their love affair. In March 2013 reports surged of the couple breaking it off but then seemed to light up the fire once again until now. "I took a break from my boyfriend, not one that I wanted," Katy said in an interview following a split from Mayer. "It was like a splash of cold water to search inward on what was going on with me. That is what led me to this new awakening, this realizing, 'If I don't do some self-love, I'm not going to be able to keep the love that I want.'" She later gushed and said, ""He's just a fantastic partner, I've been a fan of his for such a long time. He's got a brilliant, brilliant mind."

Mayer had been Katy's most high profile relationship since separating from her former husband Russell Brand. The "Dark Horse" hit maker had to deal with the divorce of Brand during her relationship with the musician. "I still needed to deal with all of my ex-husband stuff. I hadn't. It's almost like if I kept talking about it, it would seem like I actually cared about it. I don't," she said. Katy Perry's latest album, "Prism," has been a hit topping the US Billboard 200 charts the first week of its release and launching #1 singles "Roar" and "Dark Horse." The singer is gearing up to embark on a world tour that will begin in Belfast in May and will have the "Unconditionally" singer visit countries like England, Scotland, Canada, Australia and the U.S.
