Telemundo kicked off its number one Hispanic TV reality show, "La Casa de los Famosos," with a spectacular three-hour live gala. The opening night, hosted by Jimena Gallego and the new hots Nacho Lozano, saw the entrance of Aleska Génesis and Christian Estrada, the last two names of the 23 contestants, during the much-anticipated premiere.

The first episode featured a special appearance by Madison Anderson Berrios, last season's winner, and the current Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios. At the end of this fourth edition, only one of the participants will receive the prize of $200,000 in cash.

The mystery contestants

Model and entrepreneur Aleska Génesis Castellanos, and professional reality TV celebrity Christian Estrada were the last two contestants to be announced for LCDLF4.

Venezuelan celebrity Castellanos is a well-known and controversial figure in Miami's celebrity scene. She gained notoriety primarily for her relationship with reggaetón star Nicky Jam and for a highly publicized altercation with actress Gaby Espino. Upon her arrival in Mexico, the model encountered legal troubles when she was detained by Interpol over allegations of stealing three luxury watches from an ex-boyfriend of her sister.

The last contestant to enter was Estrada, who became infamous for causing the rift between his ex-girlfriend Frida Sofía Guzmán and her mother Alejandra Guzmán. He went on to have a child with influencer Fedra and just broke up his on-and-off relationship with ex-Miss Universe and actress Alicia Machado.

The first challenge he had to face was choosing between sharing a bed during a week with Puerto Rican personality Maripily Rivera, or depriving La Casa of coffee during the same amount of time.

While fans were missing the previous host, Guatemalan TV personality Héctor Sandarti, Nacho Lozano, better known by the Latino TV audience as a journalist, held his own during the premiere, and offered a fresh and fun approach to the role.

The number of contestants, their controversial stories, and their strong personalities show how Telemundo has upped the ante in this fourth season of LCDLF, after Televisa broke rating records during the first season of La Casa de los Famosos México.
