Man Attacks Neighbor, His Mother With Ax During Scuffle Over Parking Row

An auto-rickshaw driver from India was arrested for allegedly axing a man and his mother during a heated argument over a parking row.

The incident happened in the Guru Nanak Nagar area of Patiala district.

According to the police, the accused lives in his vehicle. Formerly, he used to park his vehicle near a Gurudwara, a Sikh place of worship.

But he recently had to move away from the area after the committee members objected to him parking the vehicle near the shrine. He later shifted to the Guru Nanak Nagar area, police said,

"Sarabjeet Singh used to park his auto in the residential area and used to stay and sleep inside the vehicle. A woman resident raised objections to it. The son of the woman also joined the argument between them on Friday. The accused then brought an ax and tried to attack the man but his mother intervened following which the accused hit the woman on her arm," the Times of India quoted a police officer as saying.

"He then chased her son and hit him on his thigh. The accused then tried to attack all those who tried to intervene and rescue the injured woman and her son. Police reached the spot and overpowered the accused with the help of locals. The injured were hospitalized while the accused was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including an attempt to murder," he said.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further details were revealed at the time of this writing.

In a similar incident, a Maryland mother was charged with killing her two young children after police found the decaying bodies of both her 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son.

28-year-old Jameirra Hall was located and arrested on Wednesday, Aug.25, after a maintenance worker who had entered their apartment to look into complaints of a foul odor emanating from the family’s unit discovered the decaying bodies of the two children.

Her son Davin was found in the living room lying face down with a plastic trash bag wrapped around his face and head and a “large knife” plunged into his chest. His sister, Da’Neria was in the bathtub naked with clothing wrapped around her neck.

Hall has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is currently being held without bail.
