Meghan Markle previously broke a royal protocol when she did something that Queen Elizabeth wouldn’t have approved of. Two months after her royal wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan attended the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards, which celebrated exceptional leaders between the ages of 18 and 29 from across the Commonwealth.

In the documentary “Harry And Meghan: The First 100 Days,” royal etiquette expert William Hanson said that there was one thing that the Duchess of Sussex did incorrectly at that time. “At the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards, we saw Meghan sitting before the photograph,” he said. “She crossed her legs … Now, traditionally ladies don’t cross at the knee – you don’t see the Queen do it.”

Hanson added that the members of the royal family should always look like a member of the prestigious British clan. As an example, the etiquette expert said that if the public sees the Queen slouching, then she suddenly won’t look like the Queen.

“An effective and elegant way to sit is by having their feet to one side and their knees pointing in the other way, creating the slant effects makes the legs look good. It shows off the shoes and, of course, we are not crossing the legs showing something that we shouldn’t,” Hanson explained.

Royal correspondent Daniel Devane also commented on Meghan’s error, but he acknowledged the fact that there are just too many rules and regulations for her to follow. Devane said that the world is literally watching the Duchess of Sussex’s every move, and Prince Harry’s wife needs enough time to get used to all of the royal protocols and traditions that have been put in place for years.

Meghan and Prince Harry will soon celebrate their first wedding anniversary, and it is evident that the “Suits” alum has already adjusted to the rules and regulations of the royal family. However, she is expected to break a tradition during the birth of her baby. Rumors suggest that Meghan won’t give birth at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing, and she may opt to welcome her child at a different institution or even at home.
