Gun Battle Erupts In Sinaloa Killing at Least Five People 471018/ Pixabay

An alleged hitman for the Los Chapitos was apprehended by Mexican police after he was caught masturbating in public on June 6. The disturbing incident took place in Mexicali, Baha California, Mexico at around 4 a.m. when he was noticed by authorities touching himself under a 2015 Nissan Versa bearing California license plates and was parked at an intersection in the neighborhood of Camino Viejo.

According to Daily Star, the man was apprehended only after he tried to confront the Mexicali Municipal Police, as he boasted of being a member of Los Chapitos. He threatened the cops with a warning of his position in the notorious drug cartel and told them they have no idea who they are dealing with. Unfazed by his threats, police managed to subdue his aggressions and cuff him.

The suspected cartel member remains unidentified but is said to be a local in the Ejido Nuevo Leon of Mexicali. While conducting a search of the gray Nissan Versa, cops discovered two firearms that were hidden, which included a handgun and an assault rifle. Local media reports said the man could now possibly face further charges apart from public masturbation after he was handed over to the Federal Department of Public Information for possession of the firearms. Authorities have not yet confirmed his connection with the Sinaloa Cartel or the Los Chapitos, which is a faction within the drug organization run by El Chapo’s four sons.

Meanwhile, Mexican authorities are still dealing with a bloody drug war as the body of a supposed member of the Los Chapitos was found dismembered and stuffed in a steel barrel last week. The gruesome discovery came with a message written on cardboard naming the victim as part of the organization. The victim’s body parts were wrapped and bagged in black sacks before it was shoved into the drum.

The Los Chapitos have been at odds with Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada after their father’s arrest in 2016. El Mayo has since been running the cartel but after El Chapo’s son’s started making their mark in the drug business, with about 11 meth labs to their name and clocking production of 3,000 to 5,000 pounds of meth a month, a bloody rival war has gripped the cartel. El Mayo carries a $15 million reward on his head while the Los Chapitos each have a $5 million reward money listed for anyone who can provide information that can lead to their capture.
