Looks like Sony has found a company to create their official PlayStation 4 headset. The New York based sound card and headset manufacture Turtle Beach has partnered with Sony to create the official headsets for the PS4. The headset is said to come in both tournament-grade editions as well as a cheaper version for the average gamer. The headsets are reported to be unveiled this summer before landing in stores in the fall. And to top it off the new PS4 headsets will be compatible with PS Vita.

When the PS4 initially launched there were some issues that occurred which prevented legacy headsets from working with the console. Though Turtle Beach’s Dave Lowey told IGN “The new Turtle Beach PX4 wireless surround sound headset is compatible with the console, at launch, right out the box.” Lowey also said The XP510 and PX51 wireless headsets were also fully compatible in the same manner.

IGN also reported that there was a workaround to use any wired gaming headset through the PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controller. The site even has a tutorial which you can watch here or below. This news hopefully means wireless headsets will soon be on the way for the PS4. While it was revealed at CES 2014 that Sony has sold 4.2 million PS4 consoles it will likely be the case that the demand for the headset will be high.
