For years, there have been rumors concerning Gakirah "K.I." Barnes' death. But authorities have just lately stepped forward to provide records related to the case.

Barnes, who was allegedly a member of the Gangster Disciples, was shot nine times and died in Chicago in 2014. The teenager was a native of the city who dedicated her life to the city's streets.

As a member of the Gangster Disciples in Chicago, an online tabloid said the teen was allegedly responsible for the murders of more than a dozen individuals before being gunned down by a 'hooded figure.'

New information about Barnes's case has been published by the Chicago Police Department. It purportedly names the person they believe is responsible for the shooting.

Following Barnes' death, speculation arose as to who the hooded individual who shot her was. Reports recently surfaced that the Chicago Police Department had disclosed new information regarding her case.

Witnesses reportedly accused King Von, a reported member of the Black Disciples, as the alleged shooter who killed Barnes. " "An unknown M/1 wearing a Grey Hoodie and Blue jeans approached the victims. The unknown offender then produced a handgun and began firing in the direction of the victims, striking all three. The unknown offender then was observed entering an unknown vehicle making good his escape," the document showed.

Investigation found that the victim was killed by Dayvon Bennett, the police said, referring to King Von's government name. Von was stated to have been "positively identified" as the "offender." Still, there wasn't enough evidence to link him to the murder. Therefore no charges were filed against him.

He allegedly got into an argument with Quando Rondo, which turned into a shootout.

Three persons were killed and four others were injured in the ensuing gunfire, with one of the wounded being arrested for the murder of King Von.

King Von was buried in his hometown of Chicago on November 14, 2020.

Many Chicago residents have turned to social media to say that this information has been known since Barnes' death was initially reported.
