An official release date for “Sex Education” season 3 has yet to be announced although spoilers are coming out one by one. There is plenty to consider although one character that may be a bit different is Otis Milburn, the role played by Asa Butterfield.

Looking back to season 2 “Sex Education,” most will recall how Otis lost his virginity to someone he did not expect. But one of the main arcs last season was him admitting his true feelings to Maeve (Emma Wackey).

Otis did so through voice mail but the message was never heard by Maeve because Isaac (George Robinson) deleted it since he also has feelings for her.

According to Asa, there are some changes to expect from Otis in season 3 of “Sex Education.” The character will allegedly be more mature and sassy, including a run where he will sport some facial hair. But before jumping to conclusions, take note that Asa also mentioned that the third season will start with a time-jump, The Guardian reported.

"There's a bit of a time-jump since the season two cliffhanger," Butterfield said. "Otis is back at school but he's got different things on his plate. He's grown up a bit and become slightly more sassy. It's been fun to portray his newfound charisma. Don't worry, though, he's still tragically awkward too."

He added that some paparazzi were able to take a photo of him donning a mustache. Unfortunately, Asa cannot divulge anything for now other than what he has already revealed.

Considering there is a time jump, “Sex Education” season 3 is likely to see Otis dream about what the future holds after losing his virginity and revealing his true feelings for Maeve. Other than that, also worth checking out is if this will factor in on Otis and Maeve who continue to offer sexual advice to teenagers. There is likely to be a slight twist somewhere in all that – especially during the time-jumps.

Aside from that, there is that twist involving Dr. Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) who was spotted sporting a baby bump.

Filming for “Sex Education” season 3 started last September and a release date is speculated to be coming out later this 2021.
