Meghan Markle Turns 41: A Look At Her Life In Photos Getty Images

Royal Family members will be wishing Meghan Markle a happy 41st birthday "through gritted teeth," a royal expert has claimed.

Meghan, who will be turning a year older on Thursday, is believed to receive messages from the members of the Royal Family "through gritted teeth." Royal expert Phil Dampier said, "I think it is likely they will send a public message through gritted teeth. I think Charles, the Queen, and William and Kate don't want to make the situation worse by having a public slanging match with them, but privately I think they are very upset by how things have turned out."

Meghan used to get a lot of birthday wishes on social media from family, friends, and fans. However, her birthday in 2021 was tangled with public comments made during Prince Harry and her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan's rift with the royals deepened after her Oprah Winfrey interview, where she accused the family of showing signs of racism towards her. One royal expert has even claimed that several members of The Firm were said to have sent birthday messages just to avoid further public fallout for the family.

While the Royal Family is not "obliged to give her messages on her birthday," they did so as "they don't want to make it worse," Dampier added.

Meghan is expected to celebrate her birthday on Thursday with Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet, at their California home after last year's celebrity-filled 40x40 campaign for her 40th birthday.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield has reportedly disclosed Duchess of Sussex's 41st birthday celebration plans, claiming that it will be a "low-key birthday" as the royal couple's California friends group remains small. Kinsey said that the event would be "intimate." "I imagine Meghan's birthday might be an intimate dinner at Lucky's Steakhouse in Montecito. Maybe David Foster and Katharine McPhee also got a babysitter and are there to talk shop and celebrate the Duchess."

She continued, "Meghan loves to be in the kitchen so I do think she would wait to do the sweet treats and cake with Archie and Lili. They might even bake and decorate themselves. I think we can expect a low-key birthday for Meghan this year. Maybe Prince Harry would gift her a new piece of jewelry that is somehow related to their babies. Their birthstones or initials."
