Two weeks ago social media was buzzing after a photo of 13-year-old Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, made rounds online posing on a bed with a shirtless 20-year old Moisés Arias. After a lot of backlash, the photo was removed but not before countless media outlets got a hold of it. After the picture went viral, TMZ approached Jada as she arrived at LAX on May 7. “Here’s the deal,” she said. “There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You’re acting like covert pedophiles and that’s not cool.”

The photo was a big deal because of the age difference between Willow and Moisés, who is an actor known for playing Rico on Disney’s “Hannah Montana,” and Bonzo on the movie adaptation of “Ender’s Game.” He has also made guest appearances on “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” Everybody Hates Chris” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.” But although Moisés is seven years older than Willow, he’s apparently good friends with the family and also with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who are too family friends of the Smiths.

It turns out that after all the photo controversy, the Los Angeles Child Protective Services got a hold of Will and Jada and according to Radar Online, they’re actually investigating the couple over the pic. “The investigation was formally opened last week and is being taken very seriously by the department,” an insider told Radar. “Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been extremely cooperative with officials. Of course, they aren’t happy that their parenting skills are under scrutiny, but they understand.”

The source continued, “Social workers will also be talking separately with Willow, and they also want to talk to the young man in the picture with her as well. This won’t just be one or two visits with the family, and it will likely be an open investigation for at least a month, out of an abundance of caution.”
