In Brazil, a family of five fatally died after being left in the middle of a crash between two freight trucks. The footage of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Marcio Ramos de Souza, 45, his wife Dina Charlen, 39, his two young children, and his 14-year-old niece, Kethenen Wenil, died due to the accident.

Netizens broadcasted the moment the family's car got smashed between the two trucks.

Brazilian news site Estradas and Diario Online shared terrifying photographs show how the trucks crushed the car and how these heavy vehicles "made [the car] into a metal scrap."

On Monday, April 19, the family traveled in northern Brazil when a truck slowed down in front of their car. Another approached from behind collided with them, causing the family to be trapped among the twisted irons.

Firefighters arrived at the accident scene on the BR-316 motorway in Santa Maria do Para to free family members. Still, they were all pronounced dead at the scene.

The Federal Highway Police have announced that they are investigating the five deaths.

The second truck in the incident was carrying cement as it approached the car at high speed, crushing it when the brakes failed.

Authorities took the second lorry driver, named "Bacteria," to the local police station after the crash.

It is unknown if he will face charges.

The five family members were laid to rest in their hometown of Braganca, more than an hour away from the accident site.

The wife was a pedagogue at the Tarsila Correa School in Bragança, where she worked as a supervisor (PA).
