Meghan Markle claimed that she and Prince Harry are getting the hang of taking care of baby Archie. The Duchess even proclaimed the best dad ever. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently brought their 4-month-old son Archie with them to South Africa. This is the family’s first-ever royal tour together. It’s quite a special moment.
part of this tour includes a group mindfulness activity at a beach in South Africa on Tuesday. In the “power hand” session, one of the coaches asked the participants to identify one strength of theirs and then tasked them to meditate about it. One told Markle that her strength must be dancing. This was not a random comment because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle proved they got moves when they danced in Nyanga a day earlier.
“She laughed and said, ‘Not that,’ “ shared Ash Heese, a manager for Waves for Change. “She said parenting is the new strength that she and Harry are learning.”
The said activity took place alongside Wages for Change, an organization that provides vital support to local surf mentors so that crucial mental health services can be given to at-risk young people living in communities lacking survival resources.
Heese added: “She said, ‘He’s the best dad,’ and [Harry] said, ‘No, she’s the best mom.’”
That’s kind of cute if one thinks about. Few parents are actually having fun with firstborns, at least not when they tell people about it. Most of the time, they’ll moan and groan about the sleepless nights and general tiredness that come with taking care of a baby, especially if they did not have prior experience yet.
It can even be remembered that back in 2013, Price William admitted how demanding fatherhood can be.
"I have to say that I thought Search and Rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding, but looking after a three-week-old baby is up there!" he once said in public. When baby Archie was born, Prince William also said something of the same effect in welcoming his nephew.
“I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!” Prince William said.
Could it be that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are having a better handle of parenting than Kate Middleton and Prince Harry ever was? Is it even a competition though?
